Better late then never..............

.......isn't that how it goes? So I figure better a late post then not one at all. We are well and truly into the new year and summer and boy the past few days have been scorchers. I really don't like the hot weather and summer is not my fave season at all. Thank goodness for air conditioners and coolers.

Guess what? Well did ya guess? Lance finally has a support worker a young 20 year old and at this stage he works with Lance for 1.5 hours twice a week. The departments worked hard at getting this fellow in for Lance and knew he needed someone special so we finally have a little respite and the goal is that this short term situation becomes long term because Lance needs it. It is just a matter of funding and applying for more with the right services to keep the support worker on.....but great news hey?! Thought you all might like to know that.

Finally some more good news we were told just before Christmas that once Lance turns 18 this September he will transfer from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and the Autism Team over to the Department of Human Services - Disability Services. Awesome news, work has begun, departments and people are being made aware of Lance and more assessments and paperwork are being dealt with. Prior to this he would have fitted into the Multiple High Complex Needs area and although it sounds like the right place for Lance in fact Disability Services will be able to offer so much more and he will get the full ongoing help he needs.

Anyway today is just a short post and guess what again? I have scrapped....yes I finally had some time late at night (school holiday mode) to do a little scrapping and I have 2 LO's underway with only the finishing touches needed and then done. Slowly but surely and although I know I won't be able to scrap like I did at least when I can I can and that then becomes my important "me" time......my creative outlet I so desperately need to zone out of the fullness of everyday here in the lives of the Turnbulls.

Ok until next bloggin' take care and stay safe. Hugs Chris xoxo
